How can I monitor my kid's phone for sexting and pornographic images when they can just delete their messages?

You can try this app. It has to be installed on their phones though. Blocking data is another way but they will still have access to wi-fi.

Sexting you will have difficulty unless they leave their phone unattended and you can check yourself. There is other way to see what texts they are sending around.

I've never used this but it looks like it will send the texts from the phone to your email so you could then go through them on your computer or phone & make sure your child isn't sexting or doing any other questionable actions. http://electricpocket.com/txtforward/

Aside from finding an app or something as suggested above there really isn't an easy way to do this as it's considered an invasion of privacy. I believe it's been said intercepting text messages is considered the same as putting a wire tap on a phone.

I think the best way around it if you don't trust them with the phone is to get them a basic phone like the LG A341 and out a data block on it, no picture messages or web browsing to worry about.

As a mother of 2 teens, I'm concerning if they are doing sexting or using those images too. But it is almost impossible to install app on their phone since I can't even use their phone. I mean they show me pics and/or some conversations. I can make phone call from their phone if I can't use mine.

This is not really answering your question. But if I can't monitor my kid's phones, all I can do is discuss with them about consequence to use sexting and/or how dangerous and harmful it could be...

Honestly, with Snapchat now there's way you will ever be able to stop it unless you go to the lengths of picking and choosing which apps she/he has installed and/or blocking data. Blocking data would solve everything for you

Except things like snapchat would still work on wifi.
