Hi, I want to unlock my cellphone.
My account is in good standing and my device has been fully paid.
Koodo removed the option to unlock the device via Self-Serve.
I don't want to pay the 10$ to talk to a customer service rep.
How do I unlock my device?

as I mentioned in the other thread, you can't unlock in Self-Serve, and therefore you won't be charged the $10 for doing it over the phone

I called the customer service representative.
They wanted 35$ to unlock the cell phone.
The contract was signed on February 2015.
The CRTC states that the cellphone can be unlocked for free once its been paid off.

There is a 35$ unlock fee in the contract to unlock the cellphone. This is against the CRTC wireless code, which were effective on all contracts on June of 2013.

Could Koodo contact me in private to help me unlock the cellphone?

The CRTC does not state that the phone needs to be unlocked for free.

I filled out the survey prior to the CRTS wireless code of conduct expressing the cost of unlocking.  But according to their final decision, there is a robust enough unlocking market that carriers can set their own competitive unlocking prices.

However Since you have an android, I recommend ebay for unlocking.

FYI, other carriers in Canada charge $50

I understand, this was a mistake on my part.
Unlocking a cellphone isnt free.
Thanks for the input, Dennis and Jru.
