How to stop pop-ups on my Nexus 5?

I have a Nexus 5 phone. About 3 weeks ago, I installed an app called 'Opera'. It was supposed to speed up my phone by getting rid of viruses. It did not help so I uninstalled it.

Now I am continually getting pop-ups. Everytime I type something, I get a pop-up and many times have to retype my message. How do I stop them permanently?

Check your applications section of settings and make sure it's gone also reboot your phone to make it reset the system. There's a chance it could have downloaded another app or something that's causing it.

None of Opera's products (Opera browser, Opera mini or Opera Max) are designed to speed up your phone by getting rid of viruses. Try Chadwick's method first. If the problem persists, try installing an antivirus/anti-malware app to see if anything shows up.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (recommended)

Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus

Hi Rikkster, I finally installed Malware bytes Anti-Malware. It found one 'bad' app so I deleted it. Thanks for your suggestions.
