How to setup the BlackBerry DTEK50 to use on Koodo?

I have never setup a phone to use on a particular network on my own. I have a Koodo cell phone plan with data on a Samsung phone. To use the BlackBerry DTEK50, I would transfer the SIM card from the Samsung phone to the BlackBerry DTEK50. What about the Android settings? What settings do I need to change to make the BlackBerry DTEK50 to be able to make phone calls and browse the internet? Thanks.
Ps. BlackBerry DTEK50 is an Android phone.

Nothing in general. usually just putting in the sim in an unlocked phone will just handle everything. If you have internet issues, then you make sure APN settings match:

Of course assuming data is on, there's no data blocks, etc.

Thank you for the information. I will try that and see if I can use the DTEK50 on Koodo.

Which Samsung phone do you have? If it's an Android phone, make sure you have backup enabled in your settings. Then, once it's backed up, you should be able to restore your apps (but not their saved data) to your DTEK50 during the initial setup.

That's a Samsung Galaxy S7. Enabling the backup in Settings is actually doing a Google backup? I will do that and will be setting up the DTEK50 today. Thank you!!

If you're coming from an S7, you can restore your apps with Tap & Go:

This is the fastest method and the one that I prefer to use.
