Just activated my new smartphone with android 6 with koodo, everything seems to be working great so far. However when i send a text message to an email address i have 2 issues.

First issue: i cant figure out how to send sms instead of mms to email addresses, only the mms send button appears whenever i send a text to an email adress.

Second issue: when my recipient receives my message (s)he gets my message but also a pretty large koodo footer that says: "You've received a message from a Koodo Mobile Customer" and then some more stuff. I don't want that koodo message appended to my every text to emails, otherwise recipients need to erase it before replying otherwise the conversion becomes clogged with all that useless junk and gets unreadable.

Any ideas how to fix?

I do not believe that you're able to remove the automatically generated content.

It is dependent on the phone/carrier IIRC whetrher it'll send as a sms or mms, and unfortunately for your case I guess it's gonna go as a MMS.

As for the second issue I am not aware of a way to remove the footer given it's auto added in as part of the message being sent.

Sending to an email address from a text, must be sent as MMS

Why not send an email? Ultimately much easier to manage for both parties in the conversation.

There are many reasons one could fancy sending text to email or email to text (I tend to send email to text). This is a courtesy feature offered by the carriers, so I'm not surprised they slap a giant footer with their logo on it.
