How to move Koodoo number from one phone to another phone and keep the 2nd phone's rate plan

I have two Koodoo phones on the same account.  I want to move my existing phone number on my old Blackberry to a Nexus 5 phone.  The Koodoo rep at a kiosk has done this by giving me a new SIM card with my old number from the Blackberry for the Nexus 5.  My question is what rate plan do I now have on the Nexus 5?  The plan on the Blackberry or the Nexus 5?  How do I cancel the original Nexus 5 phone number?  I basically want to keep the Nexus 5 rate plan while using my old Blackberry phone number on the Nexus 5.  I also want to cancel the plan on the old Blackberry.  How do I do this on the self-serve.

Unfortunately it is not possible to do so within koodo's system. The blackberry number will remain tired to the blackberry rate plan. The only way I can see that you might be able to make this work would be to port the blackberry number out to another provider, then port the number back to koodo, replacing the existing number on the nexus plan. You would need to make sure the blackberry line is fully cancelled before porting back though, otherwise there would be conflicts due to two active lines having the same number.

OK. This means that if I cancel the original Nexus phone number and its associated plan then I will have to pay the outstanding tab balance. Can I move the tab balance for the Nexus phone over to my BlackBerry phone number/plan which is now on the Nexus phone?

No. Tab balances cannot be transferred from one line to another.

Hello S Rea,

From what I understand, you already have your new rate plan with the Nexus 5.  If so, in order to keep your Blackberry number and port it over your Nexus, you will have to port away your number as Timo mentionned.

However, you don't have to cancel your new rate plan and pay off your tab immediately.  You can simply port away your number to another provider, make sure it works with the new provider and check that your old Blackberry rate plan is effectively cancelled with Koodo.  As soon as everything is in order, port back your number on your new rate plan on the Nexus 5.

Please note there may be some restrictions when you port your number to another provider, such as a minimum number of days the number has to stay put.  Check with the provider you will use to keep the number in between plans on Koodo.

Let us know how it works out for you.
