Just bought a Moto G and signed up for Koodo prepaid. Setup went fine, but I get this annoying text message every 15 minutes to "sign in to network". After I click on it, it says Your unable to access the web cause of one of the following reasons. I can access the web thru my Wifi. How do I stop this text message?

Is it an actual text message or a notification from the phone?

Try going into settings and then data usage and try turning mobile data off if it's not off.

If it is off then try restricting your background data Which you will find when you tap on the 3 dots up in the right hand corner.

Let us know if either of these fixed the issue and the notification stops popping up or if it still persists.

Thanks Timo and Paul. I did both and no luck. What I have discovered is when data is on, and I turn off my wifi the message comes thru. My guess is that's because I can't get web access without wifi. They're trying to sell me data. I don't have a data plan, as I use my wifi, but leave data on to receive pics and some iphone messages.

The notification is from your phone, not from koodo. It's trying to access the internet through the koodo network, which is blocked because you don't have a data booster. The phone doesn't know this is why the data isn't working and assumes that the connection isn't working because you need to sign in, which is why it prompts you to do so. Nobody is trying to sell you anything.

I also had this problem. I just ignored it before but thought I might try and solve it when I got my new phone.

I turned cellular data off and stopped getting the notification. I noticed two things:
  1. My battery life significantly improved, presumably because my phone wasn't always looking for the network.
  2. I could not send or receive pictures or receive group texts. Not much of an issue for me. If I want to do these things I just turn cellular data back on; a quick finger swipe and poke on a Pixel2

If it's a notification from the phone, try rebooting the phone.

Do you have cellular data on your phone or do have a data block on your account?
