The account holder must cancel. You'll need to contact your ex to ask for it to be cancelled. She will have to call 611 to do so. I'm sure she'd be ok with that given she's technically responsible and is on the hook for paying if you stopped paying it. If you want to keep the number I think you can get it switched over to your current account. I'm guessing separating the line into your own account wasn't an option?

Hi Goran, thanks for the response.  What do you mean by separating the ling into your own account (I don't believe I had explored that option)

So if you have multiple lines on an account, you can get thoseines split up into their own account. You have to get the account holder to authorize it and you register like youre opening a new account and then the line becomes yours.

cool that might be an option.  In terms of what I instructions I can give her as to how to cancel it what would she need to do (does she need to go to a koodo store, what information would she need to give them)

She should contact Koodo directly in order to cancel a line on her account. I've usually done this by phoning in, but she may be able to do this by contacting Koodo directly via Facebook or Twitter message.

She will need to provide the agent with information that will verify her identity and account ownership.

Do keep in mind that if you wish to move your number away from her account, you should not get her to cancel it - you'll lose the number if she does that,
