how to access my text over wifi if there is no cell coverage

i am in the north for a month. There is not coverage her, but I have wifi. How can I access my messages & text over wifi on my Samsung note.

Voicemail messages can be accessed using Fongo.

SMS/MMS - you could try GO SMS Pro or Google Voice.

There is no way to receive your text messages without cell coverage unless you use wifi and download a third party texting app that assigns you a random number.

It should be noted, that all of the apps that are being mentioned (while they work really good), wont access your basic SMS. Most of them require you to either get a different number to use, or that you add people to your list. Unfortunately the plain and simple of it is that if someone is going to send a text to your cell phone number, your going to need access to the cell network. If the people are cool installing a new app like WhatsApp, BBM, anything like that, then you will be able to chat over wifi since those are web based apps.
