I think it depends on the phone. I know I can add a third party and I'd guess those two people could also each add a third party and so on.

I extensively googled it and got no definitive answer.
maybe one of the banks of endless knowledge like timo will know an exact digit.
one of my colleagues asked and i was like, i literally have no idea

Seems to me there needs to be a HUB to manage the calls. Think about all the hops the tip of one branch of the tree you are creating would have to get through to get to another tip.  So, while each caller could chat to the two they connected to, there might be no way to get further.

Edit - most carriers seem to call theirs 3-way calling, though Bell offers up to 5 connections from your account.

AFAIK, there is no hard and fast limit. The exact number of people that you can join into the call depends on the model of the phone. Most businesses that hold conference calls regularly use some sort of hosting service, which avoids limitations imposed by the handsets. I personally have never really found it practical to have more than three people on the line at one time in any case though, so I've never really done any dedicated research on the subject.

I use an Iphone 7 plus and I can only add 2 people to the call.  I used to be able to add more with my Iphone 5 which I think is really weird so I thought it was a Koodo thing I guess not!
