I believe it's up until your next billing cycle date. Or you can change your plan partway through.

It's until your next billing cycle or until you purchase a data add-on or agree to overage charges.

Yes, unless he replies to the block message saying he doesnt mind the charges or wishes to buy a data add-on.

My grandfathered plans charges extra data at $5 for 200 mb which is substantially cheaper than exta data charges for current plans ($7 for 100 mb).

As to my first question, if I were to change plans at some future time, will it be possible to disable the shock free data thing?

Yes, for $7 per 100 MB of data exceedence.

I do not believe you can disable it (the warnings you can), as it's a feature that 99.9% of people like. You can agree to overages and continue with pay per use data though. A rep from Koodo will have to chime in with the official answer on that though, as I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, David.  The steep increase for extra data in the past 4 years -- $17.50 for 250 mb extra versus $5 -- turns me off the idea of switching plans.  That and the numerous complaints on this board regarding the failure of the "shock" plan to prevent the extra charges people don't want.  Thanks for responding!

The other option if you are consistently using all your data is to switch to a plan with more data, but you'd have to work out how often you get overages (and the costs) vs the increase in monthly plan price.

@Karine. Why don't you just post this answer somewhere on the site that's easy to find?? Also, when a search is performed, it would be much better to have 'authoritative' answers (those posted outside community.koodomobile.com authorised by Koodo) at the top of the results.
