How long do I have to wait between porting a number out, and porting it back in on a new account?

I have two active, unique Koodo accounts. I understand I can't swap numbers between account as to keep both active (both are on rate plans that don't exist anymore), so I want to port my number on account 1 to a prepaid account at another provider (closing account #1), then once the port is complete, port it back to Koodo on account #2.

Is there any sort of time I should wait between porting back to Koodo? Could it theoretically be done same-day?

Hi Caleb, why don't you consider a transfer of ownership? You would keep the number and the plan and it would only cost you $25. Simply give us a call at *611 and we'll explain you how to proceed. Thanks!

Okay, so I ported out yesterday. Trying to port back in online using the self-serve portal today and I'm getting an error message it's indicating that 'Sorry, this phone number is already in use'.

How long until the number is officially 'released' from Koodo and can be ported back in again?
