I would like to switch to Koodo Prepaid from Rogers Pay as you Go. I go away 6 months a year and need to suspend without losing my number. What are my options? How much does it cost? Thank you in advance!

Just dont do top ups for 89 days. Then to keep your number you need to activate your base plan. Then let it expire and you can go another 89 days. After 90 days the account is closed and your number will be gone. It would cost you $15 for minimum base plan to activate.

90 days.... It doesnt cost anything to pause it you just don't put any money on the account so your base plan doesn't renew.
If you need to be away for more than 90 days then you could put enough to renew 3 months on a basic base plan and then let it go dormant for 3 months and activate the base plan just before the 90 days is up. Or go 90 days dormant than pay a month and then dormant another 90 days.

Or you can port your number over to a free voip provider. The porting costs 20-25 bucks so it may or may not be worth it. The longer you go, the cheaper that option is. And you can even use your number with WiFi or data if you so desire during that time.
