Here is everything you need to know about the Trade-In program: http://help.koodomobile.com/getting-started-with-koodo/koodo-trade-in-program
Basically you just bring your phone to a Koodo store and they tell you how much it is worth and will give you that as an in-store credit towards the purchase of a new phone!

You have an LG G4? Most trade-in programmes will not give you anywhere close to the resale value of that phone. Your best bet is to sell that phone on Kijiji, Letgo or some other platform. You could sell it for $150-300 (the lower your price, the faster it'll sell).

If you had a phone that was worth next to nothing in resale value, and you happen to live not too far from a Wow Mobile kiosk, they have a pretty good trade-in program on Koodo where they'll give you a flat $50/75/100 in-store credit to use towards sim cards, memory cards, cases, headphones, or other accessories depending on their promotion.

Your LG G4 will sell for more than that for cash, I would not recommend throwing it towards a kiosk trade-in program.

I've checked with a couple different retailers and the most they'd offer for a working LG G4 is $45

I know a retailer offering $120 for a used LG G3. I'd imagine he'd offer more for the G4. Selling the phone online directly to a buyer would probably leverage the best cash value.

Koodo still carries it at $0 on tab 15 (total of tab $360 after $40 activation credit).

What I meant (and I probably didn't make it clear) is that $45 is what those retailers are offering to pay a customer in trade-in value for a working G4

Ah yes, that makes sense. Wow Mobile would probably be most generous by giving the $50/75/100 depending on their promo. Best Buy would give $120 for trading in an LG G4 in good condition - link but that'd require an activation with Rogers, Bell or Telus (not the subsidiaries).

These trade-ins are only in-store credits. Much better to sell the LG G4 to a buyer on Kijiji/LetGo, worst case scenario to a cellphone repair shop.
