Well the text tells you. Add it in check out where you'll have the option to enter promo codes online or go to a koodo kiosk with this text.

So do you pick the $45 no tab plan with unlimited talk and text and pay per use data and then put in your code and it will bring it down to $20 Goran?

@Randy: You could follow the instruction here (this is for PM customer to Koodo, but I just tested, it worked with the gomonthly code). https://www.koodomobile.com/go?customer-service
  1. Select "Switch now" below
  2. Choose a SIM card (I think the $20 is a BYOD plan so no phone)
  3. Add a promo code and validation code (this is on the top right area of the page). Your phone number (koodo prepaid) is the validation code.
  4. Pick your plan
  5. To bring your phone number to Koodo, select "transfer my current number" during the check out process
  6. Check out!

I went to the kiosk and they said I'd still have to buy a new SIM, even if I have the prepaid one

I just got home from the kiosk at the mall. They INSISTED that I cannot use my same SIM card, since Monthly and Prepaid are 'different'. I went with the 45 (4GB/Unlimited) plan, and had to pay 15$ upfront. Great staff, but they mostly seemed uneducated about the promotion, as well as the 'Same SIM card' ideal.

I phoned the kiosk at a mall. They told me they could "scan" my prepaid SIM and I could "use the same SIM"--so would not have to pay $15.

You can go back to the store and show them this thread.
Paul's link below is showing "Official rep" confirmed that you can use prepaid SIM if you did this at a store.

Is the $20 per month for a limited time? Any other details on this offer? Any other hidden fees transfering from prepaid to monthly? Seems like its too good to be true...a $45 plan for $20 indefinitely? What am Ii missing?

They shouldn't have, we will bring it to Koodo's attention to make sure sales ppl know thry should be just using the prepaid SIM card. Anyone else who sees this show the salesperson this thread where Koodo head states what I'm stating here - https://community.koodomobile.com/koo...

The sales person insisted that I had to buy one, I was about to but I didn't have my IDs on me and said I'll return tomorrow...

That's not right. When you go back show the thread that Paul linked. That should be good enough. If not call to complain.

Does this promo only work for those who received a targeted text msg from koodo? Or could a koodo customer who did not receive the promo take advantage of the offer?

It's only for ppl who received the message Susan as your prepaid phone number is your identification that you received the offer.

Like to see answer: How long does the $20/mo last? 1 year? 2 years? Forever?...

I just realized that if I take advantage of this offer, I will be paying WAY more for data. Prepaid data booster: 1 gb for $30. If I go monthly, I pay, $7 per 100 mb,= $70 for 1 gb!

hi susan,
If you need data, you could switch to the "prepaid-postpaid offer" $45 4GB, which would be much cheaper than the 1GB $30 add-on. I think you could see that plan when you enter the promo code and your prepaid number. There is also another $55 for 6GB plan.

The $7/100MB is mainly for overage and accidental one-off usage.

I haven't been offered the $45 for 4gb plan, but even if I had been, it doesn't make sense for me:
I pay $13.50 monthly plus tax for unlimited texting (10% off $15 prepaid plan with auto credit card payment).
I buy a 1 gb data booster for $30 every few months--I just use it for email  and the odd web surf when not in a wifi zone.
I buy 500 minutes of talk for $25 and it lasts me about 3 months.
So per year I am spending around $250 total. If I switch to $45 monthly, I will pay more than double that.
The promo I was offered ($20 monthly)  only makes sense for people who talk more than I do, and even then, for someone who wants data but uses it judiciously like I do, it's a deal-breaker to lose the 1 gb for $30 that does not expire.

For light users yes it makes more sense to keep what you're now. Whatever works best for you.

@Susan:
From what I was told, the $45 and 55 will appear when you enter the code and your number.

And Yes, if you are happy with your plan right now, you should keep it.
