I want to purchase Add-ons for the US and I see that I can do that by sending a text with a code in it. My question is: how do I pay for the add-on? I'm a pre-paid customer with pre-authorized monthly payment, and I also purchase minutes as I need them.

As per Sophia and Rob US roaming is not possible with our prepaid service. But we are looking at it and plan to make it happen later this year if all goes well.

Your phone will need to be unlocked to use another carrier's SIM. It might be as easy to pick up a cheap prepaid phone at Walmart, and have them help you set it up before leaving the store.

hard to believe it's this complicated in 2016....are you talking about Walmart here in Canada or in the US?

US. You can also order Roam Mobility here in Canada, that works with T-Mobile in the US. You would need an unlocked phone though...

T-Mobile has a Walmart USA exclusive prepaid plan which is 30 for unlimited data(used to be 5GB which is nice), text, and 100 min. You can then use Fongo, or Skype, or whatever you want to make unlimited phone calls for free/very cheap. So long as T-Mobile will have decent coverage where you plan to go, I'd say that's the best option.

Me too! Not just US but internationally as well. I missed some important texts while abroad and couldn't sign into one service that requires 2fa by SMS. Bring it on!
