How do I get Caller ID to work on my Nexus 5

I dont have it restricted on my account. Yet for some reason I only get phone numbers displayed when I receive calls, and my name shows up as 'unknown caller' whenever I make calls. This is really annoying.

You have to have the person in your contacts for it to show who is actually calling and the other person has to have you in their contacts as far as I know, that's how it's always been for me anyways.

It's not like land-line caller ID used to be, when the single solitary phone company had access to THE database of all numbers.

In the US, you generally get just the State where the area code is registered unless the caller is in your directory.

Some cellphone companies offer the detailed called ID, but Koodo doesn't
