What you're asking can not be done easily by anyone.

Why is it you're looking to do this? If you just like the others phone you could just exchange Sims from one phone to the other.

To port out my current number to be my permanent home phone number, while getting a new area code for mobile.

So the only way is to lose my balance, correct?

Unfortunately, what you want is not possible, Mewa :(

You can port one of your numbers to your landline, but in doing so you'd be permanently closing your prepaid account and lose all its boosters etc.

The other prepaid account would have to stay the way it is, but as Mathieu said you can certainly "transfer ownership". With prepaid it is as easy as change the name and address on the account.

Thanks Sophia.

It's also good to know this cannot be done.

Running it down then port is the only way then.

You want to maintain number xxx-xxx-xxxx on your landline.

You need a new area code/number for yyy-yyy-yyyy mobile.

First: Do a change of number on yyyy line. Not complicated if you are staying within the same province/billing parameters. No balances lost. Change to another credit card, transfer responsibility.

Port xxx-xxx-xxxx to CallCentric or internet phone service, which wlll close out your current Koodo prepaid account. You can now call forward CallCentric number to any number(s) in North America very cheaply, and use regular handsets at home with an SIP box. Consider the boosters lost here to be small potatoes in the scheme of things.

You can now cover both numbers with one mobile phone, and have the option of cheap home phone service.

If you have use for the second xxxx cell phone, it can also be tied into your call forwarding and registered with a new number.

In case you are thinking of switching Koodo handsets, be aware that your phone number travels with the SIM only, not the handset.
