I need to save a record of text messages, I'd preferably like to save them in a word document but I just need them saved off phone in a document or in the cloud right now so I can share them.

You can also email a conversation to yourself.

Open a conversation. Press and hold one of the text bubbles, and choose "More" from the dialog box with opens. Select all the parts of the appropriate conversation, and put your email address in the "To:" section. The content of the conversation will arrive to your email.

Unfortunately you would need to choose each text by yourself since there's no "Select All" only a "Delete All"

However, the term used by the OP: "Save a record of text messages" suggests to me that it would be a conversation or two, not all her messages.
