How can I prevent another person on my account from keep adding on more data when he's already used his his monthly ount

We have a friend on our account who seems to have no self control over his data usage. He currently has the $55 plan which gives him unlimited Canada wide calling, unlimited text and 1GB of shock free data which turns your data off once reached the limit. When a new month begins the data gets turned back on. He literally uses that data in one day. And turning your data back on is as simple as a text message. Now he keeps adding on data knowing we will pay for it. How can I prevent him from adding on that extra data?

There's currently no way although that might change in the future. You'll just have to separate the lines if your friend is going to be like that, or terminate or suspend the line

Thank you. I kind figured there'd be no other way.

You can look into putting him on a prepaid plan if youd like. This way, you will be in control of how much is used on the account and he can't buy more data without talking to you and asking for you to add another data booster.

Yes that would be one way, but koodo doesn't have as good of prepaid plans as monthly plans. And we wanted to help him get a good plan for less. But obviously he's not appreciating it, so we will do something else.

Here is one possible way to help him....parents have used this method with their kids. You could use the lost/stolen feature once he reaches his monthly limit. Regardless of him adding any more the service is cut. At that point you can advise him about better data management. :-)

We are working on a feature to allow prime account holders of an account to have even greater control of their account, albeit it will be several months before its release.

But with the lost/stolen feature doesn't the phone get disconnected completly? We didn't want to cut him off completely, but we will talk to him about controling himself and if that doesn't help we'll just have to remove him.
That new feature would be awesome! Can't wait, thanks!

Yes, it maybe a more a drastic option although it teaches people some good lessons. Once they know you have control typically people adjust their behaviour.

You can also switch him to a voice only package with a data block for the rest of the month.
