How can I move my son's phone payment to his own credit card?

My son wants to start building a credit rating so he'd like to pay for his phone, which is currently on my bill. Can I call Koodo or visit a kiosk with his cc information, or do we have to call or vist together? It's difficult to find a time when we can do either. Thanks for your advice.

Hi Jeanine. Assuming your son is at least 18 or 19 depending on province of residence, you can do a transfer of responsibility (one time $10 fee). Then he'd be financially liable for the Koodo account. Only alternative is to port to pre-paid, but that won't build his credit rating.

Jeanine. You, (assuming you are the account owner) will have to be with him when you transfer his number over as well.

I am looking to transfer my sons account; will his phone number and plan stay the same when it is transferred into his own name?

This is how you can do a transfer of ownership if he is old enough as titaniumtux said.
You (Account owner)needs to call Koodo in first and initiate the transfer of ownership. Tell them you  wants the account/line to be put under your son's name.
Once your request is initiated, your son will have 10 days to call them back and complete the transfer. It would be easier if you both are there to call in.
They will run a credit check on him over the phone. So, prepare with 2 pieces of ID such as credit card , SIN, drivers license...
If he passes he will have his own account.  And he can start building a credit rating.
