I want to tether my Moto G to both my laptop and/or my Ipad. I set the Moto G up and it seems to be sending a signal as both devices see it. I can select it on each device but that seems to be as far as I can go. I still can't get the internet to open on either or to transmit my mail. Is there something I'm missing?

In other words, the Internet does not work on your tethered devices? Does it work on your phone tho?

Edit you apn settings

Under Apn Type make sure "dun" is one of the types

The internet does work on my phone.
I'm new at this...where do I find the Apn settings to adjust?

Try restarting the device and then retrying to connect to it.

read the starred reponse for exact syntax of apn type, getting rid of the "supp" item

There is a chance it may not enabled on the phone. I have a few LG Androids from some "budget" US carriers and their particular models do not support tethering, probably because they are not interested in everyone going overboard on data.

Do you see a menu like the one on the fonarena page below? If there is no specific hotspot menu you may be out of luck.

BTW, tethering is a good way to really run up your data bill. Just checking emails and doing minor browsing can easily cost you 20mB a day since you will be dealing with the full-res version of most sites rather than the slimmed-down one tailored for the smaller mobile screens.
