Im happy with the phone except im unable to successfully use the wifi hotspot on my tablet. it shows connected but im unable to surf the web. i have tried different sim cards from rogers and virgin mobile so far and they all work just fine. my sim also works fine if i use a koodo phone but not on my note2 even though all other sim cards from other carriers worked. im able to surf the web on my phone but not on my tablet via wifi hot spot. any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Ok, let me see if I got this right....you have a Note 2 from koodo and a tablet of some kind separately. When you boot up your hotspot on your Note 2 it connects to your tablet but unable to browse the web? I don't necessarily have an answer just wanted to better understand the problem.

My note2 is factory unlocked international version. Works fine with koodo. Tablet is samsung tab p1000. Im unable to use the wifi hotspot from my note2 onto the tablet. It shows connected but i cant surf the web. The Internet works fine on the phone itself and also i can use the hotspot if i use the other carriers sim card. So far i have tried rogers sim and virgin mobile sim and they both workrd fine and i was able to surf the web on my tablet via wifi hot spot. The problem is when i use koodo sim, it says connected but i can't surf the web on the tablet

I can only report that Note II Koodo version works fine as hotspot to Samsung Note 10.1 tablet & mac computer with both Koodo and ConsumerCellular SIMS.

Can you successfully send/receive an email to yourself on the tablet using an app other than the browser?

That will answer if it's a browser or connection problem. To belabour the obvious, try clearing the cache on the tablet's browser.

Next big step would be factory reset, but you will lose all your settings and downloaded apps. Seems to have solved some other wifi issue:

Make sure on your Apn settings that the APN type has DUN included

Settings...wireless and networks...more...mobile networks...access point names

Example:
Apn type: Default,mms,dun

Thanks Chad.

This was the solution for my Samsung Tab 3 not getting Internet access on my Galaxy S3 WiFi Hot Spot. (although the tablet WAS showing the icon for a connection to the WiFi network)

Much appreciated

Roger
