Horrible service everywhere around my area.

I have really horrible reception at my home and around my community (West Carleton near Ottawa). The coverage map said I would have 4G LTE but i have virtually no reception unless i stand in one spot outside my home. I also have difficulty using data in most locations, not just at home. I am very unsatisfied with the service so far. Can anything be done?

Try restarting your phone.

What phone do you have? I would recommend resetting your network settings

I have done this and still no success. I have an LG G4.

How's cellphone service  when your friends and family are in the same area?

Which provider are they with?

Rogers and Fido are the only good providers apparently. I was with Bell and it was also horrible.

It sounds like Telus (Koodo) and Bell may not have the best tower coverage in your area if others are having similar issues.

The good news is that carriers have a 15 day return policy on cellphones if you are unsatisfied.

Look up your location on this map and see if any cell towers are close to you:

There's a Rogers tower. Can I force my phone to use this tower? If so, are there additional costs. I wish I knew about that website before signing up with Koodo. The coverage map is misleading.

You need to be with Rogers, Fido, Chatr to use the Rogers tower

Unfortunately no. Are there any Bell/Telus towers that are anywhere close?

Yes but they are both at least 15 km away. Too late for the 15 day return. I live in the middle of nowhere, not the most convenient for me to run in and out of town...
