In regards to the email that I received earlier from Koodo, I do have a concern. I feel like Koodo doesn't give any incentive to their valued customers, only to new customers. I have two members on this plan that both want an upgrade but we are unable to get the promotions as we are not new customers, but should you not value the customers that you have had over a few years. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Tom

What promotions are you talking about exactly and are they from Koodo or a retail parter like best buy, Walmart, mobile shop ect?

From a koodo store, not Walmart, or any other store. If you go in to upgrade you're phone you do not get the gift card that comes with their promotions while a new member gets this. This neglects they're current customers as I have gone in to a koodo booth requesting this and they unformed me on a couple occasions its for new customers only and they don't promote these deals with existing customers sadly enough. Thanks paul for the reply.

They give existing customers what they give to new customers. Unlike most of the others you can get any new plan they come out with. Phones are also sold at the same price to new and existing customers alike. Not sure what you are referring to.

Chris I didn't say plans, I said promotions... I know the phone prices are the same that is not the case. Here's the scenario. I am a koodo customer seeking a better phone for when they have student deals and a new member would receive the $50 visa and $50 accessory gift (if that's the deal advertised) while a current koodo customers goes to buy the same phone they get it for the same price, but does NOT receive the $50 visa nor the $50 accessory gift. I have asked a koodo representative 2 separate times now to only get told only new customers receive the gifts. this is exactly what koodo had informed me from Guelph.

If it brings you any comfort Tom, what $50 buys you in accessories at a mobile kiosk would probably cost you about $10 on eBay, if not less :)

And as for the $50 visa card? I don't think ebay sells it for $10 if not less lol thanks for ur help, just hoping for someone to answer why they don't. plain and simple.

I was simply trying to point out that missing out on $50 from a gift card was NOT equal to having to spend $50 on accessories at a kiosk, nothing else. Have a nice day :)

I got my gift card when I joined koodo. But I don't have an expectation that everythime i buy a new phone they will continue to dole out gift cards to me. Otherwise I think, prices will eventually go up. :-)

1. It's to attract new subscribers. Money they didn't have before. An existing customer upgrading is continued revenue but it's not additional money. Upgrades also pay less money than new activations, from a profit standpoint.

2. To stop gift card/reselling hardware abuse. Imagine the craziness if existing customers always got the advertised gift cards like new customers... people would continually upgrade their lines and then resell the phones to make profit.

3. Koodo actually offered the same advertised gifts to both new acts AND Tab redemptions TWICE this year and nobody freaking listened to me. The Mobile Shop had $50 PC GC for all Telus renewals and Koodo Tab redemptions back in March and another run near the end of June: all Telus renewals got $50 again but all Koodo sales basically matched whatever new acts got... which was $100 on all smartphones.
