Home phone does not ring

Recently signed up for Koodo Home phone.  The switch has been completed from another provider.  If I connnect the hub to the home phone jack then the phones do not ring for an incoming call.  The phones still work and provide a dial tone for outgoing calls.  If I disconnect the hub from the phone jack then the phone connnected directly to the hub will ring.  Any suggestions?

You are not supposed to connect to the wall jack. You connect your phone directly to the hub.
If you want multiple phones, you will need to get a cordless set, and plug the base into the hub.

They must've just heard the question wrong or was thinking of something else. The Koodo hub runs off the Sim card and it gets service wirelessly. Landlines get service by connecting into a wall jack which runs out to the phone lines. Koodo doesn't have access to the phone lines like Bell or Rogers would and the system isn't set up to work with them.
Simply just plug your phone into the hub and you'll be all set to go! If you want multiple phones you could get a cordless set or a spliter and run lines throughout your house that way.

The sales person was mistaken. Your house wiring for telephone is still connected to the exchange, unless you have specifically disconnected it at the demarcation point. If you go through the process of physically separating you house wiring from that of the telco, it MAY work, but there also may be too much resistance in the wiring runs for it to be successful.

I have 3 old phones in my house plus a wireless base set. The koodo unit can be connected to both the telephone wireless base unit and the house line with the two inputs. You must unplug the main service from the old telephone service running into the house though and everything will work just fine. If you don't disconnect the main line at the demarcation point coming into your house, there is still voltage running through the house telephone wires which conflicts with the koodo unit. As far as too much resistance, I ran 100' of wire from the house to my workshop phone and have a very large home. This did not affect the telephone quality. All phones work perfectly.
