Hi,

I have to wonder why Koodo can't advertise a Christmas Tree and instead compromises with a Holiday Tree? Did you do that for Halloween too? What about Valentines Day? C'mon. This appears to be gutless political correctness and/or inclusive extremism. Let's keep Christmas in Christmas and use the word.

Well just as a comment a tree is just a celtic tradition that was added to chrismast tradition but a tree does not really mean chrismast so could be aswell a holliday tree or whatever you wanna call it

Well Christ should always be our focus on christmas but as you know the tree does not have anything to do with Christ and is just a pagan tradition, so I dont see whats the big deal here if you really wanna celebrate the birth of Christ do it in your hearts and not with this consumption fever that everyone gets these days.

What should I do? I am not a believer but we have taken on this commercial tradition. I can't honestly call it a Christ's tree. We used just refer to it as the "tree" but holiday tree may not be bad after all.

We need to stick with the current times and say that Christmas is the name for the holiday whether we believe in Christ or not. Just like we aren't changing Jewish named holidays or even pagan ones like Halloween. Christmas may have been intended to replace a pagan holiday but it's not a pagan one now nor has it been for years although one might wonder with all the commercialism. People don't make the connection to some past pagan holiday. No one now was alive then. I don't see how using the name for the holiday endorses your belief in Christ. Too me, using the name Holiday Tree, Happy Holidays (exclusively) or Xmas (why not Cmas) is more obvious than using Christmas or Christmas Tree. That's what it is and always has been. Canada is predominantly Christian in some form so using these names for a naturally Christian holiday seems only to be common sense.

Poor Christians act like they're a minority being discriminated against. Koodo is recognizing that not everyone is Christian and there are multiple holidays.

FYI the Christmas tree is a pagan tradition, not a Christian one. Holiday tree is certainly more accurate.

Hey Brian the reason this drives people crazy is because it has always been called a Christmas Tree. Of course there are multiple holidays but a tree is obviously used in one particular holiday -Christmas. Its a huge double standard, if I were to avoid using proper names of other religions holidays and their customs I would be labeled a racist. Multiple studies and polls have been done and other cultures are against your politically correctness because it makes it look like they are the biggots for not wanting Christmas. Its only the far left liberal political movement that this offends. If you are against the word Christmas so much go to work on Dec. 25th and don`t celebrate the holiday but I bet you won,t.

The video in question:

i find it silly for El Tabador to say "Holiday Tree", despite not considering myself a Christian.

It's sad christmas traditions are changing to cater to the 20% who are offended. I was impressed this year with 90% of stores saying merry christmas and it turns out they received a ton of customers just for that reason!! and apparently a lot of stores sold out rapidly with products saying merry christmas and were stuck with happy holidays. I'd love to hear happy holidays when i actually go on a holiday not when i'm celebrating xmas! If someone said to me happy kwanza or hannukah or whatever i'd say hey thanks same to you it's about respect! And it's funny people are offended YET they don't complain about time off!
