Hi I'm currently switching to Koodo from bell. I already switched one line and cancelled the one line myself from bell ( didn't port number). But I'm wondering if i was to switch my other line from bell,( phone is still on contract with bell) and port number does Koodo cancel the line with bell? And in turn end the contract? And bell just bill me the final balance on a final bill at a later date or do I need to pay up front?

If the number is still active when you go in to activate the phone and port the number over to Koodo, then yes, Koodo will notify Bell that you wish to cancel your Bell account.  Bell will then send you a final bill for whatever Device Balance (if any) is still owing and any airtime you haven't yet paid for.

If possible, bring in a copy of one of your Bell bills, so that the store associate can use your account number to port your phone number over from Bell to Koodo, that makes the process a bit easier.  Keep in mind it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours for your number to completely port over.  You'll be able to make outgoing calls immediately on your new phone, but incoming calls will still go to the Bell SIM for that time frame.  You'll likely also get a call from Bell, even before you leave the Koodo store/partner retailer (The Mobile Shop, etc) saying something to the effect of "hey we noticed you're switching, is there any reason why?" etc....that's what they did when I switched from Bell to Koodo on one of my lines.

Do NOT cancel the Bell line before you come in, or you will lose the number.  Let Koodo notify Bell.
