Hi I just bought an iPhone 4s with Telus or koodo as it's carrier, the SIM card had a plan is it possible to change it to prepaid and how much would it cost to switch and to reactivate it or would it be cheaper to buy a new SIM card that's already prepaid.?

If the sim card is active on a post-paid account, it cannot be "downgraded" to pre-paid. In fact, Koodo and Telus have certain sim cards packaged for pre-paid, other sim cards packaged for post-paid (other carriers don't make this distinction, meaning an unused sim with the other guys can be activated either prepaid or postpaid). You can get a Telus or Koodo pre-paid sim card and use the service with the iPhone 4s, but it'd have to be a new sim card.

You need to get a new prepaid sim card.  It costs $20 but comes with a $20 activation credit

It'd have to be a Telus/Koodo sim card branded as pre-paid to use with pre-paid service, and the sim card would have to be new (meaning never activated before).
