Help me get my phone on the network

I have a Telus SII X android phone.
It was on the Telus network... Now its rooted and unlocked.
I installed the latest Telus/Koodo radio on it (SGH-T989D_TLLE4_radio).
Now with the koodo simcard in, I'm scanning for Available networks and all I can see is Rogers, Bell and Telus.
I tried registering on Telus and that doesn't work.
Petro canada wireless worked on it before this..
LTE/WCDMA is active.

Any suggestions?

Try bell or Telus. If that doesn't work unplug the battery and sim card while the phone is powered on. Power the phone back up scan for networks again and try manually connecting to each network seperately. Make sure after doing this you set your phone to search for networks automatically again.

I'm pretty sure that's not the right radio for your phone. Doesn't look familiar

Check xda for an older radio

Try removing the root(if your phone is network unlocked, the unlock won't be removed).

Did you try your sim in another device?

I don't have another device. Would it also matter that my number is currently being ported?

Did you get a text message that the port was complete?

How could I get a text when I can't connect to the Koodo network?

Lol ya sorry

Call koodo from another phone and see if the port is finished

Even during a port, the phone should connect to the network. The only thing that won't work is being able to receive calls(which will work when port is complete).

I have a feeling the system is not accepting the phone. The fact that it's from Telus does not guarantee the phone will work. Some unlocked phones just don't work on Koodo's network.

It worked with tmobile, rogers, petro canada wireless and telus..
The site says its compatible with Koodo..
I wish I could figure this out.

It doesn't matter if it's worked on every other provider in the world. It doesn't matter if the compatability tool says that it's compatable. It basically comes down to this.

Insert sim, it phone connects to network, network has accepted the phone. If the network doesn't accept the phone, the network will not show up.

No amount of troubleshooting can fix this. This is the risk of using a non-Koodo phone.

Okay, I will cancel my plan... thanks for the help.

Before you cancel anything I would suggest calling customer service anyway. Who knows, maybe your sim is defective. Maybe your phone was reported stolen. Who knows.

Exhaust all your options before you give up.

You could also try loading the original koodo firmware on it. You can get it from Samsung and flash it with ODIN

Chad is right on the spot. Check the sim first, then once you eliminated that scenario, then check XDA. If it worked for Telus, there should be work for Koodo. Keep on trying!

It could be the sim card itself that may be the issue. Sometimes the sim card becomes faulty and you may need to get a new one through Koodo (at no charge if it is a sim fault). If you went to a Koodo store/kiosk I'm sure they would be more than happy to test the Koodo sim on their own device to make sure it is active or inactive in order to rule out the possibility of it being a sim error.

I'm sure we all apologize for all the trouble you are going through...but I do hope you give Koodo a chance to get into your good books, that is if you don't mind heading over to a Koodo store for help. We always try our best to support!!! If not, then no worries!!! I hope which ever provider you choose gives you the satisfaction you deserve!!! All the best!
