How?
A bit more information describing the issue you are having would allow folks to offer suggestions.

If you are in certain parts of southern BC, it is possible that if your local tower stopped broadcasting, a nearby US tower became the stronger signal.

My phone is very old & starting to act up a bit. Could this be a factor?

@Suzanne: if you are using iPhone, you could go to settings -> cellular --> cellular data option --> cellular data network --> manually select Koodo. That would help.

This also works on Android phones.  The process may vary a bit by model, but basically you go to Settings, SIM & Network (or something similarly named--on a Samsung you may need to go to Connections I think it's called), then if you have a dual-SIM phone tap on the slot with your Koodo card, then tap on Network operators, and toggle Choose automatically from on to off and choose Koodo.  If you ever want to actually travel and roam, turn this setting back to automatic.
