Hello, new customer. I received my first e-bill....I believe I am being way over-charged!

Hello, new customer. I received my first e-bill, and what I am suppose to pay ($18+tax) turned into a $41.13 bill. I am on the 100 Canada-wide plan. There was a deal that i received $10 off my first 6 months. I bought my own phone, and only had to purchase a sim card. I didn't go over any of my minutes or anything. Why am I suppose to pay $41 for my fist payment?

Your first billing period is pro-rated from when you signed up to the billing date. You are also charged services for the upcoming month in advance This occurs when anyone signs up with a provider. Similarly, when you change a plan,  both the old plan and the new are pro-rated for the portion of the month they were active. Then go to "charges on my first bill"

Brian, to add to David's response above you will see on your bill the following. The message on the right is on the first page, and the details of the bill on the left is on the 3rd. All in all, let me assure you are not being overcharged.

Also, you mentioned $10 off my first 6 months.
If this one is BYOD promo, then it will be appalled on your 2nd or 3rd bill.
