very sticky situation so about 6 months back i had signed up for a koodo tab for a family member long story short things went south i was left with the bill. now i was aware of the past due balance and was working on paying it off at this point i had a second line with koodo on a separate account. They did not notify me with a sms or even a email to let me know that my bill was still adding up every month so i assumed the past due balance would remain the same if i was not receiving a bill anymore. Just yesterday i was on a important phone call for my job and my phone cut out on me randomly and was disconnected i understand that both accounts are under the same name but i do not agree they should affect each other at all since my payment history on the current account is fine. I agree that i need to pay off the past due that i was aware of but i don't think i need to pay the months that i was not notify about with my bill accumulating if i am going to remain with koodo anyways

As will all utility companies, etc, interest is accrued for all outstanding payments.  This is not a new or uncommon practice.

Also if I had 2 properties with a cable bill, and I dont pay off 1 property I would not be surprised if both properties get shut off.

Im also sure your credit rating is affected.

it was not interest that was accumulating it was them still billing me a monthly fee as if the phone was still working and i disagree i don't think it should affect my other account they have nothing to do with each other its just the name is the same. if that was the case then people owing for a certain carrier shouldn't be able to get a phone with another carrier since its under the same name

no i did not cancel my account but i was not receiving anymore sms or emails to notify my i am still getting charged therefore i was waiting to be contacted by the collections agencies

so if the company is still going to charge me a monthly fee how do i not deserve to get notify by a e bill which i had set up from the beginning

which account the one that was active yesterday said $.0.00 but wont let me get into my self serve now funny thing is i call customer service it says there is a outstanding balance owing on your account to restore your account minimum payment of $0.00 needs to be paid. Does that make any sense to you because that just boggles me completely
