Hi, some am taking a little trip to another province for about a week. I need to use my phone and will undoubtly be using data as well... I just dont want to get slammed with roaming charges and all... what would be the best way for me to take care of this?

Unless you have a local minutes plan you will not be charged roaming and you can use your phone anywhere in Canada as if you were at home. However a local minutes plan will charge you if you leave your calling area.

Just a slight correction. A local minutes plan will charge you if you call outside of your immediate location, you won't be charged simply for having the phone on when you leave your calling area.
