Having issues with cell network in Borden, is there any network upgrades going on?

I signed up with Koodo a couple months ago and has fantastic signal at Borden, ON where I work. But lately in the last couple weeks reception has been terrible, lucky to get 2 bars of 3G and speeds have been terribly slow. Has there been network upgrades going on? Or has cell tower been damaged? Just frustrating as it used to be great and now not so much.

hi Greg,
I would be hard to know in this Community forum. You would have to contact Koodo/Telus directly and ask. Telus and Bell is sharing their tower also. It could be also problems from Bell, if your area was covered by Bell.

One thing you could do to check is to restart the phone, reset network settings and see if quality gets better.

I've tried all you suggested and have the same results.

Your local tower:

Local Bell tower coverage is 850/1900 3G but 700 for LTE, not 1700/2100. Might be a recent change and your phone might not be set up for that frequency. Try changing network to automatic or toggling to a manual choice, both in network mode and provider.

Not familiar with iPhone, but checking the settings may solve your problem. I have a similar Bell tower in my neighbourhood and it took a little fiddling the get my Android to play nicely.

Don't trust the obvious signal bars too much; dig into the phone settings to examine the actual values in -dB or asu if you make a change.

If you have no issues at home, it could be a tower changed or went down near your work. That happened to me in Edmonton when the library underwent a full renovation inside and out
