Has the whole "Tab" changed recently? I thought it used to be a percent of your bill each month went to pay off your tab and now every month you pay your plan plus extra towards the tab???

Yes the tab has changed and there is no longer any percentage put out by Koodo each month to pay off your tab. Instead they've put that saving directly in the price of the plans.
If you have an old plan then things stay the same as they were before the change, the new things apply only if you choose one of the new plans.

It has changed. There is no longer any tab contribution from your bill. If you had one of the standard plans available for new customers just before the change, then you can sign up for a new nearly identical plan at a reduced rate. By changing to the new "Reduced price" plans, you will save about the same amount as the tab contribution used to be. For example, if you had a $45 dollar plan previously, with a 15% tab contribution, you would have had a tab contribution of $6.75. That same $45 plan would now be available for $38.
If however, you had an old plan that was no longer available to new customers, then Koodo just screwed you over because you lost the tab contribution and got nothing for it. In my case, the plan I'm on is a few years old and a comparable plan is now $15 MORE per month. I just lost the tab contribution and have spent hours on the phone with Koodo. They really don't care. They just see the extra $$ they can make by changing the tab.
