Has anybody used their plan in California ?

My current plan is 3GB data with unlimited nation wide minutes and texting.

I will be traveling to southern California for 7 days next month. I see that it will cost $7 for USA roaming per day for me to use my plan there.
-If I make a local call from California to another California resident, would I be charged for long distance or would it count as my local unlimited minutes?
-What if I make a text from California to someone in Canada, would there be a long distance charge?
-Is it basically be my usual monthly plan cost plus $49 ($7 times 7 days) ?
-Has anybody occurred any hidden fees?

Hi Jacob,
For all of the cases you mentioned, you won't be charged extra it would be $7/day. That include your calls to Canada and US numbers. Texting is international as usual.

You could see the detail easyroam here: https://www.koodomobile.com/easyroam
  • The daily Easy Roam fee is valid for 24 hours, and applies when you make or pick up a call and send a text or use data abroad.
  • Phone calls to numbers in Canada and the U.S. are included.
  • If your plan includes Shock-Free® data, you'll continue to receive data notifications while travelling and have the option to top-up at the domestic rate.

There are no hidden fees with using easy Roam either.

My wife and I used it in Cuba a couple weeks ago, we didn't make any local Cuba calls, but her and I called each other a couple times, and used our data.  Because it was Cuba it was $10/day not $7.  We did not incur any additional charges
