Best change was Medium Tab, in my opinion. 15% contribution and 24 month payoff is awesome, too.

Large Tab leaves a bit to be desired, but hey, people have been asking for a high subsidy on more than just the iPhone for a while and they listened.

I am very happy with Koodo, I am just so anxious to get my hands on a Samsung Galaxy S3. Right now there is a special for those who are not a member. I am anxious to see a special on the S3 for those who ARE a member with Koodo...I will jump on that offer quicker than you could blink an eye!

I called Koodo in Trois-Rivières to take advantage of the offer on the Koodo site which states: Free $100 bonus gift when you buy at participating Koodo Shops or Retail partner locations. Only available with new activations on the Tab. Bonus gift will be mailed 6-8 weeks after activation if account is in good standing. While quantities last.

I was told those who are already a member with Koodo cannot take advantage of this offer, only people who would like to become a member. It says it too, Only available with new activations.

I don't even have a phone with Koodo, I have my own phone that dates from 2010 with Rogers and cannot take advantage of this offer.

Therefore, that is why I say I am anxious that they put a special on the S3 for those who are members with Koodo.

You aren't going to see a special like that for existing members. Most providers don't have them, because they are already a customer of their service.

Thank you, good to know. I will wait until November...RRRRRR...seems so long away til my birthday to buy the phone cash and still have the most amazing phone plan available.

I will not leave Koodo for a special offer some where else. I have such an amazing plan with Koodo, I would have to be crazy to go else where! And the service with Koodo to date is just awesome!

There is another choice: you could get the phone on a Tab... depending if you get Tab S or Tab M it will save you $150 or $300 up front, respectively :)
Did you get your plan with a 10% discount? If not, you may have built up quite a large amount of Tab already and save even more. Well worth looking into :D

Sophia brings up a good point; if you're using an old phone from a long time ago, you may have a lot of + Tab accumulated! I would take advantage of that rather than worry about gift cards for new activations.

If you're still totally hung up on this, then I have an option for you...

If you're okay with changing your phone #, what you could do is activate a 2nd line under your account (if eligible), which would trigger a new activation/gift cards for you, and then cancel the first one. The problem with this is twofold:

1. You'll lose any + Tab you've built up OR you'll be charged any -Tab outstanding on the first line.

2. As was already mentioned, the new line would have to get a new phone # since inter-brand transfers of phone #s is not possible (or at least I have never seen it done myself).

Just to let you know, Koodo's already offered the gift card things for new AND existing customers for a limited time twice this year already. Maybe they'll do it again around Christmas? Who knows. The next time it happens, I'll make a topic about it ... because many other customers share your sentiments.

The reason why Koodo doesn't do this all the time is because it's expensive and there's potential for abuse. Customers would get gift cards for upgrading the device and then resell the phones to make profit... or, even worse, they'd use the gift cards directly off the price of a phone, which hurts store profitability. It's not technically illegal but it's not something they condone.

I do have an old phone but from another provider, therefore I do not have any great tab created but I do have the 10% rebate! I just love it, it's incredible how little I pay for a cell that has so much opportunity!

I think I will either wait until I have enough money to buy the phone right up or if Koodo offers the gift card again before I get my money saved up then I will get the phone.

I prefer to pay the phone totally, that way I would be able to keep my amazing plan amount. I really like the idea of the phone with the new phone number, that is righteous!

I really do understand why Koodo doesn't do the gift card thing all the time, now knowing that unfortunately people abuse the situation, that is so sad...

Jonathan, if you could make a topic about the gift card offer when it happens, I would really appreciate it! Could you tell me where I could go to see your topic? I am really new with Koodo and don't know where all the topic thing a ma jigs are....
