Good Data Meter that works for Android?

I have a Motorola Atrix (2.3.6) , under Settings -> Battery and Data manager the “Data Meter” gives a significantly different outlook on the amount of data used than the Self Serve usage or actual bill shows. I might have thought it was counting Wifi data as well but the figure is significantly lower than what Koodo thinks I use. If I select “show usage by activity” there is even NetFlix and TuneIn Radio in there and of course I never dream of using these kind of data hungry apps without turning of cellular data completely and using Wifi only. I’m not disputing Koodo’s count, it’s still pretty light and reasonable. So I can accept that the built in data meter is baked and giving the wrong results and therefore pretty useless.

So is there an app (maybe even an active widget) that will accurately display the amount of cellular network data I have used? One that you can tell it the date to reset (based on the billing cycle date) would be ideal. Any suggestions or recommendations will be much appreciated!

Hi there Steve... I know you are worried about the data usage, but remember that even if you use a good app to track the data usage, the information that will be taken into account is the one on the Self Serve and the one on our systems...

If you ever notice something weird or that there is a huge difference, you may always bring this to our attention to look for possible solutions. Enjoy :)

Actually I'm not "worried" as the overage changes from Koodo seem very reasonable to me and it seems I have always used 1/10th (or less) of my allocation each month. I am more annoyed that the built in "so called" data meter is so poor (inaccurate) and as Motorola "promised on a stack of bibles" to update this phone and then reneged on that promise -- I remember reading that some people actually took action against them (class action) having bought the phone being lead to believe it would be kept up to date and then it wasn't.

Actually I was looking to use more data if I had an accurate counter I might even tether it to my notebook when both convenient and necessary but not without a better counter :)

Also your phone will count sending and receiving Picture messages as data use but if you're on a plan that includes unlimited picture messages, koodo doesn't coubt that data.
