I'm planning on going out of Canada for an extended period of time. Is there any way I can put my plan on hold and keep my phone number, short of paying for full service?

There is a seasonal hold available for $15 per month, but you have to select a then current plan upon your return, losing your current plan, but keeping your number.

Search the term 'Seasonal Hold' for lots of discussions on this topic.

If the number is reasonably precious to you, you can port it out to an internet phone service and then get those calls forwarded to your new locale.

Will most likely involve paying off phone tab (if any) and closing your Koodo account, unless you have other phones on it.

Seasonal hold only good for 6 months. No acquired rights to your current plan.
