My phone will be charged if I am sending SMS messages to my contacts' mobile phones using Gmail Chat?

if you are sending through gmail chat, you are using data. if you have a data plan you shouldn't incur any charges unless you go over.

if you use an sms program (messaging, handcent, chomp, etc) you would be charged if your plan does not include sms.

Thanks! I just want to send text messages from gmail (using my desktop) to my contacts mobile phones.

if you are using your desktop, then your phone has nothing to do with it.... unless you have your desktop tethered to your phone....

You could also use your Gmail over a wifi connection and not incur data charges from your phones connection through Koodo
