Give opportunity for customers to pay their bill by cash or debit card in Koodo Store!

One day Koodo could install a system to receive money with debit card or/and cash to pay customer bills.
For the moment it is just with credit card and the system is very sensitive if some informations from the credit card VS customer account are differents.

Not a bad idea Alex, this would make it more convenient for customers rather than sending them to the bank to pay for their bill.

It's not really secure by 100% but it's good idea, store reps should be reliable 100% though.

Hey I like it, I do know one US cell company that I used to have an account with did allow this: if we paid a $5 cash payment fee...

The idea is great and it's something that would be awesome! Although I do not think it would work. Being a subsidiary of Telus would that not create a conflict?

How about Pre-authorized Debit Card Payment on Self Serve as an alternative to pre-authorized credit card payment?

Pre-authorized debit card is how I pay my Electricity bill.

What I do to pay my Bills is to login to my Bank Site, go to pay bills, use bills profile creation, I have seven companies profile, I choose bill I want to pay on my PC, it takes 2 minutes, no need to go to the Bank, The Bank comes to me.

I'm against the idea. I had to wait a pretty long time to buy a phone yesterday, and that was without people lining up to pay their bills.

Sorry mattjs, but I don't see Rogers as a good comparison. Here in London, I have 4-5 Rogers locations within 30 minutes of my home (walking). There are only 2 Koodo kiosks in town. This is in London, Ontario. The 6th largest city in Ontario, 15th in Canada.

It's not that one customer is more valuable than another. Some things have to be done in store.

If you really want to pay your bill in person, can you not do that at your local bank? There are way more branches of all the major banks than Koodo kiosks. I have 2 TDs and a CIBC no farther than my local kiosk. I'd have more if I didn't wasn't only 5 minutes walking distance from said kiosk.

@Geoff: I can't condone a company that charges their customers to pay the bill in addition to what their bill already is.

Yeah I mean, the current payment options are fine, I'm just a little amazed they don't offer the ability to do so in person at the retail locations as well. I get that it has the potential to increase waiting times and then employees have to handle money cash etc., so just do what Rogers does and have it through a terminal, it's a win-win. The benefit is that a third party isn't involved so it's instant, plus you get a receipt. As for it not being easy, I'm not sure how it could be any easier. You just put in your account number, select your payment type, and then either swipe a card or insert bills. If you don't remember your account number, you can just use your wireless phone number. I've never had to go through a 'verification' process and it's always been just as quick as any other terminal payment process, never had to wait 2 minutes for a payment to be "pushed through the systems"...

Stores also will run the risk to get robbed if they beging to take cash money! Some loosers may notice that and try to steel their money.

Mat

Was thinking the same thing, but what if people just steal the entire Kiosk?

Bills can be paid a number of safe ways. Cash/Debit in store is not able to be done as it has to go through your account which requires an online form of payment. Also a credit card is the only way to have the payment processed immediately.

Payment options are numerous though:

Self Serve (Credit Card)
Pre-authorized Payments (Credit Card or Withdrawal from a checking account)
Automated Self Serve Phone Payments(Credit Card)
Koodo Store (Credit Card)
Banking (Online, Visit Your Bank, Telephone Banking)
Western Union (May take up to 10 days)
By Mail (Cheque or money order)
