Getting a new phone, can I keep my old phone number & SIM? Samsung S3 to Essential Android Phone.

I'm thinking of getting the Android Essential phone through the Koodo tab feature, since my current one (Samsung S3, I think) is a few years old. When I do get the phone, do I keep my old phone number, just switch the SIM card or do I need a whole new phone number along with a new SIM card?

You can keep your phone number, but you will need a new sim card as the sim card size requioremenrt for the Essential uses a nano sim and the S3 does not.

All you need to do it contact Koodo once you have the new sim and they can move your number over from the old sim to the new sim

Hi there!

For sure you can keep the same number, you are just upgrading your phone!

Did you order the phone from the webstore?

If yes, once you get the phone, just insert the Sim Card and everything will be as it is now...

Does the Essential come with the SIM if I order online, or do I need to order it separately? Also, thank you for the quick response!

Yes.  When you add the Essential phone to your cart, you will see that it comes with a sim card free of charge

During the trial period, it might make sense to keep a temporary number for the new phone just in case it doesn't meet your expectations. Port over your existing number thorugh customer service once you are sure you are not going to return it.
