Galaxy S4 screen brightness question.

I'm thinking about getting the S4 as my S2 LTE is getting older. My two main concerns are battery life and outdoor screen brightness for the S4. My screen is just as bright as my friends S3, but is the S4 any brighter? Thanks.

I'd say the brightness of the display is about the same as the S3 and battery life is much better than the S3, especially if you turn off some of the eye tracking type features which most won't you use all the time anyways. Even with them turned on though the battery is much better. I can make it 6hrs on a full charge playing a graphically intensive game like Real Racing 3 Non Stop (And you know how fast your battery drains while playing games like this), so making it through a day even with heavy use should be no problem.

Either way I'm with you, I'm extremely happy with my S4 and like it way better than the HTC ONE review unit I have right now and the storage issue isn't a huge one for me but it would be awesome to turn your 16gb into and 80gb if all or most can be moved to SD

I swore I would never buy another Samsung phone when I had my S2 and now, I'm eating my words. :-) My Motorola Razr HD has better sound quality but the 5" screen on the Sammy ROCKS. The ultimate phone for me would be a Motorola Nexus brand with 5" screen. Hope to buy that one day but for now, enjoying the S4.

I think you'll love what Motorola and Google are building in the X Phone then, it sounds crazy with all the insane sensor technology never seen on a device before & I think it's suppose to have a 5" display. I just love the 5" display on the S4 and how they fit it into the same size body as the S3,its insane and as close as holding just the display you'll ever want to get or you'll have to many accidental display touches which I already did till I put a case on it. I found the perfect case in the INCIPIO DUAL PRO with its rubber inner and plastic outer shell but the plastic outer shell has a rubberized coating on it and it makes the S4 so damn comfortable in the hand it's incredible. I highly recommend it and it doesn't add much to the device at all, best case ever and a huge improvement over the same case they made for the S3 as it has more protection but no more bulk at all.

I like my phone au naturale :-). I do find the plastic back cover a tad slippery and would like to replace it with a rubberized cover if I can find one.

I read the Moto X phone might only have a 4.7" screen but that's just a rumour so far. Time will tell.

I just checked out a video of a ROM built from the new update with App2SD and everything that isn't pre installed on your phone (so everything you download from the playstore) CAN be moved to your SD Card. So it's looking great for what can be moved to SD after we recieve the update.
If you can't wait and want to install the ROM here's a link the Max's video showing off the ROM built from the new update https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-L8i...

Can't wait and hope the official update is the same in this regard and I think It will be making our 16gb S4's have the ability to be 80gb like I said, so damn excited to get the update :-)

I can absolutely confirm what Paul said, the outdoor brightness is much better than my Galaxy Nexus (which I guess is comparable to the GS2). The GN becomes absolutely unreadable in sunlight, whereas the GS4 is still visible (ok, not as bright as my Kindle e-ink haha).

Battery is okay, though frankly I had expected a bit better. It gets me through about 1.5 days with regular use, but I had thought I could get a bit more out of it. Still as Paul said it should get you through the day even with heavy usage. It certainly is better than my Gnex battery...

There are a lot more things I absolutely love about it, such as the infrared... we watch movies in a dark room (projector) so it's super not having to fumble in the dark for the right buttons on some black remote control!

It's smooth, the screen is huge (though the phone itself is only about a millimeter or two larger than my GNex... it's just got so much more screen estate). What's there not to love. Go for it :D

The IR Blaster and using it to control my TV and Cable Box is my favorite feature ever on a device. I actually messed with the wife tonight who forgot I have the ability to control the TV with my phone and she couldn't figure out why it kept changing back to the chanel she was try to change it from, it was priceless and worth the price of the phone alone lol.

I have an app that lets my phone be the mouse and keyboard. Definately convinced the better half that my laptop had a virus

As far as the only issue I found with limited internal storage check my article out on my site for amazing news. http://teamandroidcanada.com/2013/06/...
