I can't connect to the mobile network using my Galaxy s3 (bought in Singapore). I checked my imei number on http://koodomobile.com/en/on/switch2k... and it says it should work. It can connect to the telus 3G network when my Sunrise (Swiss telco) sim card is inserted. As far as I can tell I am using the correct access point name with the settings as this post - http://community.koodomobile.com/kood...
but so far no luck...

Koodo has a general rule of data not working on non-Koodo phones. Basically, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. There isn't anything they can really do to make it work either. Voice & Text should work however.

Well, it would be nice to know why it doesn't work, and also koodo should change their compatibility page to reflect this.

Hi Catherine, we wish your phone was working properly! We do indicate on our website though that we don't provide support on non-Koodo phones, whether on data or voice: http://koo.do/Q41CkB

I don't expect support, but on your website: http://koodomobile.com/en/on/switch2k... it said that my phone was compatible with your network. How do you determine whether a phone is compatible with your network? Also, it seems strange that my phone works fine with telus on a different sim card. don't telus and koodo operate on the same network?

Actually the Telus Galaxy Note data will not work on Koodo so just because something works on Telus doesn't necessarily mean that it will work on Koodo. No idea if it's hardware or a software issue but it sounds like the same thing with your phone.

Are you using a Koodo SIM Card or one from another provider?
Make sure your phone isn't set to GSM or 2g only.

Also try deleting any other APNs that show besides Koodo?

I am using a Koodo SIM card, and the network mode is set to auto GSM/WCDMA

Hi Catherine, what a bummer! I bought a smart phone oversees and that doesn't work either, mind you it has the wrong band... or whatever it's called...
I see that there are several versions of the SIII: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_...

What is your model number? Perhaps it's not compatible with the bands Koodo uses? Not that I understand exactly what it all means... I do know numbers are important :)

One thing puzzles me, you said Telus works... that does sound odd. You're sure it doesn't connect using Rogers (or any of their sub brands) with your Sunrise card?

When I put the koodo card in my phone, it sees the koodo and rodgers networks and connects to the koodo network, but can't connect to the 3G network. When I put my sunrise card in it sees telus and rodgers and connects to telus, and it can connect to the 3G network. I'm assuming that the koodo and telus networks are actually the same, but it shows up as a different name based on the APN.

I have a GT-I9300, and I'm pretty sure it's the exact model that koodo sells...

Wow, that's odd! I thought too that Koodo and Telus should be the same, I have a Galaxy Nexus (bought in Europe) and it connects to all 3 providers with 3G.
This is a longshot: do you have anything in the "Proxy" field, like 74.49.0.18? Try deleting that, mine is empty and I have a feeling the network is faster actually....

there is something missing from the APN on that page you gave above. Make sure these are your settings exactly, specifically the MMSC line make sure there's mmsc at the end of that setting.

Did you try deleting any other APNs other than the Koodo one & make sure Koodos is checked off? If you have then try taking out the Battery and SIM Card for 60 seconds then replace them & try it again. If that doesn't work then chances are your phone won't connect to Koodo unfortunately because everything else is set properly.
