I have a Galaxy Ace and on a $20/mo. simple tab. Today I received a bill for 2 local calls totalling 150 minutes (= monthly bill of $103). The charges incurred because the phone did not hang up after the other person hung up. The keypad screen flips back to the main screen but the phone is still on the call. Do I have to press the End Call button. Can I get out of having to pay the charges for the calls? Aren't local calls supposed to be free?

Your best bet is to call Koodo and explain your situation to them. They may help you with these extra charges but no guarantees

I've yet to see that happen on my Ace, although I'm not ruling it out either. The Ace is an aging device with a number of other technical issues, so it might be a good idea to upgrade if your budget permits, say to something like the Moto G. I'm not sure how the device still thought it was connected after the caller hung up, definitely something to speak to Koodo about.

There's also a couple of apps available that will notify you when the line has become disconnected or the caller at the other end has hung up.
