We have identified an issue with Samsung’s latest software update for the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge that was released mid-September. The following software versions are affected:

• S6 - G920W8VLU2BOH8

• S6 Edge - G925W8VLU2BOH8

Impacted customers were reporting a number of issues including dropped calls, missed calls, delays with incoming SMS/MMS messages and the loss of network connectivity

We are working with Samsung and believe the root cause has been identified. We are currently testing a fix and anticipate its release in the next several weeks. The fix will be made available as an over the air (OTA) SW update to all Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices.

In the meantime, we do not recommend re-flashing your device's modem firmware, as this may void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Keep an eye on this thread – we will be posting updates as they become available.

Yes, you did,

how?

By saying anything to support Koodo's interest. Therefore, Koodo Appointed you.

I never said anywhere that you were a Koodo employee or paid by Koodo.

My argument stands, you can edit that field, that doesn't mean anything.

I disagree. To many posts to the contrary, by Customers and lessor extent Mobil Masters, Mobil Masters who post and pitch IDEAS to Koodo as possible fixes that address customer complaints.

Alright then, there you go, customers like myself have to step up and make this thread: https://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/fix-samsung-galaxy-s6-not-receiving-calls-on-android-... which now has even MORE dissatisfied customers.

And after Only to have a "Mobile Master" say he has no issues, what a great contribution!

You would think by now that Samsung and the carriers would have figured this out. Problem goes back a few years to devices such as Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy 4, if what we read on these pages is accurate.

Not unique to Koodo. But Samsung seems to quickly lose interest in updating software on models over a year or so old.

Why do you keep saying that Bob that's complete bull, Samsung updates all flagship devices for at least 18 months just like every other major company has the last few years. I have not had any issue with any Samsung devices over the last 3 years and what your reading about the Note 2 was the same guy posting multiple times because he was the only one having the issue and wanted a new device and has since been realized and dealt with.

Yes Spence I have 5.1.1 on both s6 & s6 edge with no issues at all.

Maybe the issue arises from 2 of many contractors involved in manufacturing, given the 2 sets of numbers given.
Then there is luck of the draw, my s2x got shipped out to be reprogramed, for a phone that did not turn off.

The screen is actually physical curved down on right side of phone. Not normal flat screen

Oh I know about the s6 Edge...I meant it in regard to the update above! I'm assuming the update was just for the s6 Edge because I haven't received it yet for my s6. Therefore,I don't think it's an update for the issue we are all having.

It has to do with LTE advanced and s6 software incompatibility. All you have to do is switch the network on the phone to wcdma only and viola problem solved.

That's probably why I haven't had the issue is because I always turn off LTE to help save on battery life

Oh and by the way, since I updated this morning my texts I send out, fail 4 or 5 times before I can get it to finally send :( This hasn't happened before!

It will make your data connection a little slower but to me it's worth the trade off for the extra battery life.
If anything is screwing up after the update your best to perform a factory reset like with after every update as its also recommended by Samsung themselves as things don't always get optimized properly during the update installation.

Oh I just sent a couple texts after the update and everything is working perfect. I'll try switching on LTE and see if that makes a difference and report back later today...... If I remember lol.

The edge update we've recieved turns out to be fixing many vulnerabilities Google's team found on the S6 Edge and the rest will be fixed next month with another urgent update so if you received a notification make sure you update immediately.
Google's Project Zero finds 11 vulnerabilities in the Galaxy S6 Edge after only 1 week of testing
