No sound in calls !! One week after warranty ends, I can't call with my Samsung Galaxy S4. Koodo told me that I just had to buy another phone !! Thank you Koodo !! 4 years and that's what I get ! Buy another phone and we can remove 50$ from your Koodo Balance ! Wow !!

You realize that they don't make the warranty terms, Samsung does? If it's a manufacturer issue you should be complaining to them and not Koodo since they didn't make the device.

However, Koodo just launched an extended warranty program for devices they sell. You should inquire about that when you consider upgrading your device.

I bought this phone from Koodo. They should do something. That's my point. At least, I'd expect from them to clear the entire balance left, which is around 100$.

But maybe for you, saying ''this is not our problem since the warranty period is over since one week'' might be a good answer, I don't know ...

His point is that Koodo shouldn't have to cover the remaining cost on a phone that they can't guarantee.

All the companies do this. I honestly think you're lucky to have $50 taken off of your balance. I see a lot of customers with higher/lower balance completely refused any type of reduction because it's not their fault. Which is why they almost all offer extended warranties.

I honestly get where you're coming from. It does suck. I had a really good customer of mine get a Note 4 and swamp it in water about 2 months later. He had no additional coverage. Instantaneously out $800. Manufacturer and Service Provider didn't do anything for him. It sucks man it sure does.

You're not the only one that has had a problem with a phone and you sure won't be the last. Think about all the thousands of people every week calling in like you with a phone problem and getting NOTHING.

I'd say $50 is pretty good. I work for and sell for quite a few different companies. My unbiased opinion; you won't find too many other companies that will even consider discounting anything over a phone issue. especially if you get your new phone and opt out of any extended coverage.

Unbiased opinion and you sell phones ! AHAH FUNNY !
I didn't drop it in water. It just looks like a brand new. I bought the best case (Otterbox). No signs of damage.
I they would have offered any warranty, I would have taken it.

50$ off if I buy a new phone is ridiculous. They just offer to make less money with one phone sale..

How is that funny? I sell Bell, Virgin, Koodo, Fido, Rogers and Telus.

If you're going to get a knowledgable unbiased opinion it will be from me.

Laugh all you want but you should be lucky you were even given $50 off. If you were with Virgin they might laugh at YOU and say have a nice day. Bell might frustrate you do the point where you blow smoke and hang up. I can go on and on. I've been doing this a while and I've heard all the stories.

Both of these who probably have offered an extended warranty I suppose.
Anyway, I expect from a 700$ phone to work longer than for one year and a week, especially in normal use environment.

I agree 100%. They should last longer. However, the 1 year manufacturer warranty should prove that they just don't.

It's a sad reality to be honest. It leaves good customers in really crappy situations.
