From postpaid to prepaid with gifts

Hi!

Did some research but my question is a bit uncommon and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. I'm going to keep looking but, in the meantime, I know that there are some very knowledgeable people here so here goes.

This year, Aug 2016, I referred both my brother and his friends, both minors, to Koodo. Since they are minors, I took both lines on my own account.
They both got a Moto G4 Plus with a rebate of about 112$ each plus 150$ in accessories each. Not only that, but I also used the refer-a-friend program to get 25$ on each line. So we're pretty happy with the deal.

Now, for obvious reasons, I'd like them to have their own account as I don't want to be responsible should they do... stupid things on their phones. The way I think is best is to switch them both to prepaid so it could be under their name. Here's the question part.

1. Do I need to wait 90 days before changing from postpaid to prepaid? I am asking because I have heard that I might have to pay for the gifts and/or refer-a-friend if I cancel the lines before that.
IF POSSIBLE, I'd like to see written confirmation as my understanding from what's written on the bill leads me to believe that the ONLY thing that needs to wait 90 days is the unlocking on the phone (which we don't plan to do anyway).

2.1 Is there a better solution for them to have their own line provided that they are both minors? Am open to suggestions but I feel that prepaid is the best solution as there is no way they can get a surprise bill of thousands of dollars.

2.2 If I change to prepaid, do I need to pay for a prepaid Koodo SIM card as I already have a postpaid Koodo SIM card?

Thanks!
Will update if I find the answers by myself,

Hubert

Free bonus gift : Nitty Gritty
https://www.koodomobile.com/phones/moto-g-plus
Any bonus gift you receive is yours after 90 days as a Koodo customer. If you cancel service before then, you agree to pay the value of it.

Refer-a-Friend program terms and conditions.

To be eligible for the referral credit, both of you must have active service with Koodo when the credits are applied. The person being referred must keep their account active for 90 days after activating. If service is terminated within 90 days of activating, the bill credit will be charged back to both their account and the account of the person who referred them

2)
If they are minors, then they can't have a postpaid account under their name.
If they have a prepaid account, then they can buy a Top up vouchers from variety of stores and manege their usage.

3)
Yes, you need buy a prepaid sim ($20) and activate it. But it comes with $20 credit, so you can buy a base plan or booster with it.

If you got activation credit and gift card, then just stay with post paid for 90 days(3month) and move to prepaid.
I don't know if it worth that you cancel/move to prepaid now and pay back referral credit, activation credit and gift card...
You are fast. And precise. And helpful. Thanks a whole lot! :D

1) from the Nitty Gritty of all offers on the webpage:
Any bonus gift you receive is yours after 90 days as a Koodo customer. If you cancel service before then, you agree to pay the value of it.

2.1) unless they are of age to enter into a legal contract, prepaid is about it.

2.2) you will need to obtain a pre-paid SIM for each phone in order to switch.
Fast and concise. Thanks!
