I know Koodo 3G uses 850 MHz and 1900 MHz frequencies.  But does the phone need to have only 1 of these frequencies or it needs to have both to work ?

Example:  A phone that has 3G: WCDMA 900/1900 / 2100MHz capability.

1900 is the primary band while 850 is used as a backup where 1900 isnt available. Both are not required.
You wouldnt need both frequencies on your phone but you may notice a loss of service where other Koodo members would have service still.
